Bryce Canyon 2016

Today our plans were to go to Bryce Canyon.  Kirk and I had driven close to there several times. However, we were always in a hurry to get to the next place and not able to stop.  So, we were pretty excited to finally go.   Again, its Free National Parks Week!  The weather was perfect, so we were really surprised that more people weren't taking advantage of the free entry.  We drove 1 1/2 hours from Kanab to Bryce.  The landscape was much different than what we had seen all winter.  A nice change and cooler.  The scenery was great.  Bryce was awesome, and definitely a must see!  The altitude was a little much, but I'm sure is easy to adapt to if one is there for long.   After Bryce, we stopped at the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park.  It's pretty cool if you like sand sports.  The color is awesome.  We then returned to the campground in Kanab, had Happy Hour with the hosts, got a pizza, and relaxed the rest of the evening.

Zion National Park 2016

Kirk and I left Page 4/19 and headed to Kanab.  This was only about a 70 mile ride, and a beautiful one. We are staying at the Hitch-N-Post RV Park.  It's a very small, quaint park.  The hosts are awesome and will do anything to make your stay pleasant.  After getting settled, we took off for Zion National Park which was about a 1/2 hour away.   What a gorgeous drive.   This just happens to be National Parks Week, and all parks are free till the 23rd.  YAY for us!    The park was breathtaking.  We even saw a few mule deer.  We also took the shuttle up the canyon just for the ride and to see more of the park.  They don't allow cars up to the area of the canyon where hikers and others are dropped off. You can ride your bicycle up there though.
