Chapparal 4th of July 2016

The 4th of July is always fun no matter where we are.  This year we celebrated at the Chapparal Campground.  It started off with a parade at dusk. A bunch of the seasonals decorated their golf carts, Rangers, etc and drove around the campground throwing out candy.  The margarita float even gave out free margaritas ( adults only 😜).  After the parade, everyone joined together at the Chapparal pond to enjoy the fireworks.  Dennis and his helpers put on a fabulous display of fireworks. Dennis and Dianne are the best!
The margarita float was a huge hit!
Our sweetheart Dianne, appropriately standing in front of my favorite decorated cart.
Love these two to the moon and back! Ron and Arlene are so cute!
Fireworks getting started. 🎆
Silhouettes in the pond of the fireworks starters.
Beautiful pic of my favorite decorated cart against the fireworks.  You could frame this one.
More fireworks. The pics don't do the displays justice.  What a perfect evening.

Fun with family at Chapparal 2016

Spending time with family this summer was great. I believe most of our weekends at Chapparal were filled.  But, that's why we come north in the Summer, to be by family and spend time with them.
Robyn, Ady, and Ady's best friend, Sophia spent a long weekend ( June 24) with us. They stayed in the cabin directly across from our site. We all enjoyed the great weather, campfire, cook outs, and lots of swimming.
Ben, Nicki, Bella , and Isaac were able to join us for the weekend also. They have been getting a lot of use out of their new camper, and were able to stay in the site right next to us this time around.  They even made fajitas over the campfire one evening, which were absolutely delicious!  Kristy did not make this trip as she was on a hiking adventure out west with her friend, Jeremy. We sure did miss her.

Having a crazy, good time.

Kurt and Nicki contemplating their next move.

July 4th weekend had Robyn and Ady returning to Chapparal to spend yet another weekend with us.  This time they stayed in their tent on our campsite. They had to leave on the 3rd, so we all drove to the Dirty Turtle in Castle Rock and met Ben, Nicki, Bella, and Isaac for lunch. Nickis dad, Jeff and stepmom Laurie also met us there along with Nickis aunt, and a friend of Jeffs. It was a beautiful day and a fun place. The service was a little less to be desired though 😕.
Bella having a blast on mr turtle.
If there's an ATV or such, Isaac will be on it.

Robyn and Ady joined the Chapparal crew for the annual canoe/kayak trip in Ontario, WI going down the Kickapoo River. There were about 19-20 of us altogether and only one tip over.  That's pretty good if you're familiar with this crew!   Kirk did not make this trip this year as he had just broken his wrist/arm two weeks prior and was in no shape for this kind of event.  After returning to the campground, all enjoyed a cookout on the Scenic Overlook ( Taylor's Deck)
Ady going solo in her kayak. Just like a pro.
Robyn has definitely done this before.
The Taylor's and Kindschi's.  They are a blast!!
The Chapparal crew minus 4.  The other 4 were on a mission to get to the end.

On the weekend of July 22-24, Kirks daughter, Heather, her boyfriend Charlie, and their daughter Kaylee, and Heathers son Damon came to visit us at Chapparal. They stayed in the cabin directly across from us.  Friday was great allowing everyone to enjoy the swimming pool, have a cookout, and campfire that evening. The rest of the weekend was kinda rainy, which caused Damon to be quite bored, but all in all we had a good visit. Always nice to have family around.
