Fun on the Lake February 2016

Lake Havasu City is, of course, well known for its lake.  We had not yet been on the lake since our arrival in November.  We don't have any water sports toys (due to limited space :) ).  Our friends Paul and Bev, who are staying across the road from us at our RV park, invited us to go with them and 2 other couples for a pontoon ride on 2/20.  The pontoon, I believe belonged to Randy and Kristy from North Dakota.  The other couple was Bruce and Debbie from Canada.  This was a great, fun day.  The weather was beautiful.  We rode down to Parker, and ate at Havasu Springs for lunch.  We did stop along the way at one of the beaches for a "relief" stop.

Beautiful end to a great day!

A great group: Paul, Bev, Randy, Kristy, Debbie, Bruce.

Kristy came to visit on 2/22 and left on 2/25.  She had flown into Phoenix to visit her best friend, Camille.  They were doing hikes in the State and National Parks.  Camille is a guide and does her job well.  Kristy and I hiked Sara's Crack near Sara's Park here in Havasu on 2/23.  This was a 6.5 mile hike and towards the end, I was ready for it to be done.  It was a great hike, though, with beautiful scenery, and  wonderful bonding time with my favorite oldest daughter.  Kirk was not able to go as he had some tests he had to have done at the local hospital.
Kristy could not stay off those big rocks.
Found a scary bear in its cave
The only part of the hike you have to take the rope down
Loved the trail
Made it to the lake
Gorgeous part of lake Havasu on our hike.
There she goes again. Always up for a challenge
Loved our time together
What a way to end a hike.

The next day, Kirk, Kristy, and I decided to go Kayaking.  It was a fairly windy day, but we didn't think that would be a problem.  Although, we WERE the only kayaker's on our trek.  We put in at the beach near Palo Verde street and kayaked to Castle Rock.  Had we been thinking, we would have put in at Castle Rock and "floated" down to Palo Verde WITH the wind instead of against it.  This was a 6 mile kayak trip and about 1 mile in, Kirk decided to turn around, get the truck, and meet us at Castle Rock.  That ended up being a great idea!  The trip was constant paddling, cuz if you stopped, the wind would push you backwards, making twice the work for you.  We did have some fun, and took some beautiful  pictures, and once again, had a good time together.  Love that girl!
Beautiful girl, beautiful day!
Going against the wind.
Little island with a palm tree on way to Castle Rock
Kirk waiting "patiently" for us to arrive at Castle Rock.

On thursday morning 2/25, Kristy had to return to Phoenix, as her and Camille had another hiked planned.  Kristy and I went to breakfast before she left, and I went into work.  I look forward to many more awesome times with her.
