Since arriving at Chapparal, Kirk went right to work helping Dennis, Dianne, and the crew get everything ready for Memorial Day weekend. Kirk's main job was helping prepare the pond. This pond gets better and better every year. This year, they added an additional small pond hosting the big pond toys. The main pond holds the "shark bitten" floating mat, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boats, and fishing. Of course, there's also just plain fun swimming and playing in the sand.
Portion of the beach. Come on down and enjoy the sun, have a picnic, and enjoy the water sports.
The water sports area!
Ben, Nicki, and the kids arrived Friday afternoon with their camper for Memorial Day weekend. That evening after they were all set up in their site, we enjoyed burgers and brats grilled by Kirk. A downpour of rain occurred just prior to Kirk finishing up, and Ben setting up the camper. Needless to say, they got soaked. The rest of us did appreciate their efforts though. The rest of the weekend was great. Ben had to return home on Monday to work, so Nicki, Bella, and Isaac stayed until Wednesday evening. Ben returned to hook up the camper and take his family home. I miss them :(
Isaac staying safe near shore while Bella and grandma tackle that big floating toy.
We made it! Well, Bella did anyway. I couldn't get past the side arms. More difficult than it looks
Bella had a great time going down the slide floaty
This girl can do anything she sets her mind to.
Playing on the beach. I had told the kids not to get wet as it was kinda chilly. Of course, Isaac got a little wet. When I told him he was getting kinda wet he politely told me "Well I know, I've been working. There's a reason." Ya can't argue with that!
You can't go camping with grandma and papa and not have ice cream. Anyway, mom and dad went golfing, so they'll never know
"I'm standing on my flat feet" said Isaac. Bella also learned to float on her back this weekend.
Ben and Nicki's DIY bean bag toss board. They even light up at night. I played so much I got acute carpal tunnel. That'll teach me to do anything more than a thousand times!
