Lake Havasu Balloon Fest
The Owl balloon was cool!
This guy was coming in for a landing next to us
They needed extra weight to hold the balloon down. Kirk to the rescue!
The fire engine balloon was fun!
All kinds of balloons
Perfect day!
After the balloon launch, we took a short road trip to Quartzite. The RV show was going on and we needed to drop our tow bar at the Blue Ox tent to have it rebuilt. While there, we walked around the tent and the flea market and picked up a couple of vent covers for the top of the RV. On our drive home, Kirk and I stopped at Lily's in Parker for an awesome burrito. I loved the tortillas they used and talked them into selling me a dozen. They were so huge that after getting them home I was able to make 4 dozen out of them. They freeze well!
We celebrated Kirk's birthday golfing at Emerald Canyon Golf Course in Parker. He loves that course. So, I'm guessing it was a pretty good day. We were totally exhausted when we got home. We had ice cream ( Happy Birthday Dear), and went to bed.
Kirk enjoying his birthday
This is a beautiful course!
The next day we decided to do a dessert hike. We found a place just north of us on the west side of 95 across from Craggy wash. We hiked about 4 miles. The scenery as usual was great. We saw a wild burro, found 2 heart rocks, and a golf ball.
It warmed up real quick
Lots of small caves. Don't even want to know what is in there.
On 1/27 Kirk started golfing with a group from the park we were staying. They left very early ( before I even went to work) and golfed at London Bridge Golf Course. Their day included 9 holes and a great breakfast. He only did this a couple of times before deciding it was too early and too cold. Nice guys though.
My coworkers at Lake Hills Inn decided we all needed a happy hour, so off to the Turtle Bar on the Island. We sat on the dock having drinks and appetisers watching kayakers, boats, and pontoons go by and/or stop for drinks also. We also watched a beautiful sunset. Arizona has the best sunsets.
Love these days.
