I really love reading about our adventures which makes me wonder why I don't keep this blog/journal up to date like I should. After leaving Iowa (which was very sad having to leave all our family) we landed in San Antonio (again). My old job was in need of an SLP and I just happened to be available. Timing is everything. I was so excited to get to see my Peeps and catch up with them and their lives. We decided to stay at the Greentree RV resort just a few miles from my work. It's a clean park with long pull throughs, which is what we needed. We find it very difficult at times to find parks that can accomadate a 43' rig. This park was also very near the I-35, but not too close, and close to shopping and restaurants. They also LOVE their ferrell cats....although, our dogs weren't as friendly to them.

We were excited when we found out that Kirk's good friends from Arkansas (used to live in Marshalltown) were coming to San Antonio to visit family.
Jim and Linda were able to spend some time with us while there. We took them to Gruene, which is a very unique, old TX town. It houses the
Gruene Hall, the oldest dance hall in TX, the
Gristmill, a restaurant which used to be an old cotton mill, the
Guadalupe River, where we have gone tubing many times, and many other unique shops, wineries, etc. We also went with them and their family to
La Fogata, a well-known, and one of our favorite mexican restaurants (2nd to
Chuy's) in San Antonio. La Fogata also has
THE BEST margarita in San Antonio. Can't wait to see Jim and Linda again!

Another couple, and very good friends of ours,
Loren and Dianne, visited while on their way to winter in The Valley of Texas. They were coming to San Antonio from Marshalltown, IA via a Thanksgiving trip to see their children in Colorado. We had a wonderful visit and were also able to go downtown SA to see the Christmas lights on the
Riverwalk. Did I mention,( besides being a very cute couple), that while they were visiting they took a giant leap into the tech world and purchased IPhone's. Can't wait to hear how they are doing with their new phones.
